Hello D&D fans!

Let's talk about art!  We have 4 fantastic artists working on The Grim & Deliberate Beast, each with a different and complimentary style.  We wanted to make sure we captured a range of moods in this set, and for what we're doing, nothing impacts the mood more than monster art.

 Daniel Lopez-Melville 

Daniel has an ethereal style.  His work is evocative, dark, and full of emotion.  Here are a few of Daniel's pieces:

Hello Everyone!

We just hit 45k in pledges, thank you!!!   Now it's time to make a major improvement to our Stretch Goals.

We'll get right to it:  We want your Tome of Lore to have a hardcover.  Check it out:  

So you can ignore the 150k requirement in the Rewards.  At 65k all Print Tomes get a hardcover.  If you know you ultimately want a hardcover Tome, consider upgrading your pledge to Print and let's knock this one out.

  •  Stretch Goal #1:  If you haven't yet shared the campaign, that's all you need to do to claim your Bonus 5. 
  •  Stretch Goal #2:  Hardcover Tomes at 65k.
  •  Stretch Goal #3:  Marbled dice for brutal crits and death blows at 85k.

Hitting our Stretch Goals will bring in new backers, which in turn unlocks brand new Stretch Goals, making The Grim & Deliberate Beast better for everyone.  

What's after 85k?  We'd love to add a challenging and tactical adventure to the Tome of Lore.  It will make full use of our A.I. system, plus all the unique extras you get with our project:  Combat Insults, Critical Hit & Death Blow Tables, and original new Traps.

Hello Everyone!

It's been a crazy good first week for the project, and thanks to you, we're already 400% funded!  Thank you!!!  

We'll release a 65k Stretch Goal soon.  This one will be tied to social shares, to help get the word out.

And of course we'd love to hit the 150k mark so we can upgrade your Tome of Lore cover to a beautiful hardback.  If you know you ultimately want the hardback, please consider upgrading your pledge now!

Name Change!

We're changing the name of our project to The Grim & Deliberate Beast.

Nothing else is changing.  You get the same creepy art, original writing, Combat Insults, Traps, Critical Hit & Death Blow Tables, and of course the 5-tiered Narrative A.I. System for your RPG monsters. 

We're making something for D&D unlike anything else on the market, and we want our name to reflect that.  The new name better captures the flavor of what we're bringing to the D&D universe, and it's cleaner.

You'll notice the name change on all our channels over the next few days.  Let it grow on you.  We think you'll like it.

Hello These Monsters Backers!

Here's the artwork for Chimera, that some of you will not have seen...and we have Duergar by Daniel Lopez-Melville on the way.  We've proofed the initial art, and it's spooky:  A Duergar couple standing in the light of a green lamp, with a Human baby stolen from the Overworld.  Look for that one over the weekend.

One of our writers, Warren McHenry, just put the finishing touches on his piece Rust Monster Origins, Biology, & Lore.  We love this piece, check it out if you want a deep dive on Rust Monsters.  Where did they come from?  What do those tentacles do?  There's a cool new subtype, Flickering Stalker, and even a scrap of Old Dwarvish epic poem...

And Vassar O is nearly done with their piece on Trolls--Troll Queens are brutal!--we hope to share it with you in the next few days.
